Vygon Midline Insertion Course

Date: Commences February, May, August and November 2022

An RCN Accredited CPD e-learning training programme, designed for clinicians who are interested in completing an in-depth midline device insertion course.

Course objectives

Summarise key considerations when selecting the most appropriate vascular access device

Demonstrate an understanding of ultrasound guidance for venous access (if required)

Demonstrate a knowledge of the anatomy and physiology as related to smartmidline or leaderflex insertion

Vygon PICC Insertion Course

Date: Commences February, May, August and November 2022

An RCN Accredited CPD e-learning training programme designed for clinicians with an interest in increasing their skills and knowledge about the procedure of PICC insertion. It will be of particular interest to clinicians working in roles that involve IV therapy or vascular access as part of their remit.

This course contains information on all aspects of PICC insertion with quizzes, reflections, assignments, competencies, and a practical workshop to increase your knowledge and confidence in PICC insertion.

Course objectives

Demonstrate a knowledge of anatomy and physiology as related to PICC insertion

Identify preferred veins for PICC insertion

Develop skills to safely and correctly insert a PICC

Describe potential complications of PICC insertion, how to recognise them, and interventions should they occur.

A training programme designed for clinicians who are interested in completing an indepth IC-ECG technology for Central Vascular Access Device (CVAD) tip positioning course.

Care & Maintenance of PICCs & Midline Catheters Online Training Course

Date: Online Course 

A CPD Certified e-learning training programme, suitable for any healthcare professional responsible for the care and maintenance of midlines and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC).

This evidence-based and comprehensive module encompasses the key elements of best practice to maintain and improve clinical outcomes; integrates vessel health and vein preservation; infection control and ANTT.

This course is designed to facilitate continuous professional development and learning, along with supporting reflective and evidence-based practice.

Discuss the prevention, identification and management of infection

Vygon Ultrasound Guided Vascular Access

The aim of this module is to provide you with the theoretical knowledge required to safely and effectively use ultrasound guidance to insert a Vascular Access Device.
