Lifecath CT PICC Easy is a single lumen peripherally inserted central venous catheter in biostable polyurethane for mid to long-term central venous access. The length of which can be adjusted by the physician at its proximal end.
The Lifecath CT PICC Easy is compatible with pressure injection at 325 psi and up to 6ml/sec. This PICC catheter is inserted with an MST peel away introducer (Micro-Seldinger technique) allowing to puncture the vein with a very thin needle (21G) for reduced vein trauma.
Key Features of the Lifecath CT PICC Easy
- Easier and more accurate insertion using conventional or ECG technique (no need to cut the catheter before insertion).
- Preserving the integrity of the tapered distal tip: less traumatic for the vein and minimising the risk of thrombosis
- Lifecath CT PICC Easy is compatible with pressure injection up to 6cc/s and 325 psi (22,4bars)
- High flow rate of up to 6ml/s
Lifecath CT PICC Easy advantages
- Preserved distal tip
- Black mark of the tip confirming the complete withdrawal of the catheter
- Centimetric marking
- No excess of extracutaneous line
- No re-placement of the PICC line
CT-Rated PICC Lines: The safer and more efficient solution for CT scan injections
Use of a PICC for contrast media injection is a suitable alternative for certain patient groups where peripheral IV access is difficult or not possible. For example, as seen with patients with extensive burns, lymphedema or with patients where there is a need to preserve potential sites for future arteriovenous fistula formation.
The Lifecath CT PICC Easy allows flow rates up to 6 ml/s, to increase the number of organs that can be examined using a CT procedure, allowing better quality images and tissue visualisation.
Safer for the patient, safer for the radiology technician. Lifecath CT PICC Easy is built to withstand 325 PSI.
Why use CT-rated PICC lines instead of peripheral intravenous (IV) cannulas?
- Suitable for patient groups where peripheral IV access is difficult
- Preserve peripheral access and vein damage
- Prevent complications that result from multiple and unsuccessful IV cannula placement attempts
- Reliable IV access
