Vygon’s Procedure Packs containing ChloraPrep® in the UK

Vygon’s procedure packs are becoming increasingly popular in helping UK hospitals reduce the number of stock items required for a procedure thereby improving efficiency by decreasing waste, reducing ordering costs and packaging.

As the first company to include ChloraPrep in our bespoke peripheral cannulation procedure and critical care packs for distribution in the UK, we are seeing demand for these packs increase considerably.

As part of our commitment to ensure the best possible service to our customers we are continually evaluating our processes with a view to improvement. This includes increasing production of our packs to ensure we can continue to anticipate demand and minimise the times from order to delivery.

Our desire to enhance our manufacturing plants in France coincides with the tightening of controls of devices and pharmaceuticals. As part of this, the French Competent Authority has increased both the frequency and level of audit for French manufacturers.

During a recent audit at our current manufacturing facility, recommendations were made to improve our procedures to ensure they meet the required standards. Having assessed how we best achieve this, and expand our manufacturing capacity, we have committed to re-develop our facility over the next 12 months.

In the meantime, we are temporarily moving our manufacturing to a new site and, for a short time, we will be modifying the presentation of our packs.
For the time being, the ChloraPrep will not be inside the procedure packs, it will be supplied with the pack in a single package. For the convenience of customers, this interim solution ensures that we can continue to provide the entire contents of procedure packs with minimal interruption in supply.

Our operations team is currently working through our stock and planning lists to offer our customers this option.

We will work closely with customers to ensure they are kept fully informed at all times and we will help them plan ahead so that interruptions to the supply of packs are kept to a minimum.
