Vygon to tackle needle-free standards at WoCoVA 2012

Vygon are going to be putting issues that impact upon the global standards of needle-free vascular access under the spotlight a dedicated symposium at WoCoVA in June. The presentation at the world vascular access congress in Amsterdam will be led by IV Nurse Specialist, and founder of IVteam.com, Andrew Jackson. He will be joined at the Vygon-sponsored event by a panel of European experts to debate the issues and answer questions from delegates.

“The benefits of needle-free vascular access devices in reducing infection avoiding needle-stick injuries are well documented,” explained John Kerridge, International Product Manager for Vygon’s needle-free access system Bionector. “But as there are no official global standards, as well as a lot of practical issues that medics and clinicians experience on a daily basis, it is important to be able to ask experts about their experiences and recommendations.

As the UK’s first IV Nurse Specialist and founder of IVteam.com, Andrew Jackson is very familiar with the issues and will be able to guide delegates through the plethora of information which can be quite complicated and, sometimes even, contradictory.

“Our panel will be able to contribute experiences about their hospitals as well as add to the debate about how to infuse, inject, sample and change IV tubing without opening the circuit to the atmosphere.”

The symposium will take place in the Glazen room at WoCoVA on Wednesday 27th June at 6pm.
